About Guy D. Biechele
I live in the rural New England town of Athol, Massachusetts with my wife. Our two grown children have "left the nest". During my career as a craftsman/woodworker, I have built guitars, harpsichords, and fine furniture. I am currently employed as a manager for a company that makes both reproduction Shaker, and reproduction colonial furniture.
My interest in photography began during the time I was in college, majoring in natural resource conservation. I was involved in many outdoor activities, and found myself drawn to landscape/nature photography. Over the years I continued to take pictures, but not with the same passion. This passion was rekindled a decade ago. I took a course in advanced digital imaging at a local college, and subsequently purchased my first digital camera. Since then, my photography has been strictly digital. I now am photographing with Olympus DSLRs and Sony NEX.
My favorite subjects are landscapes, nature, and abstracts. However, no subject is safe from me, if I have camera in hand. I really enjoy the instant feedback that you get with a digital camera. I know right away if the shot came out, or if there seems to be a better way to shoot it. This way I can make more of the "moment". Also, having the ability share digital images over the Internet - with other photographers from all over the world - has been very inspiring and has added a whole new level of enjoyment to my photography.
